About ECCO

ECCO (European Contemporary Composers Orchestra) is an ECSA project dedicated to performing and promoting contemporary art music and to reaching new audiences. It operates as a network of active ensembles, orchestras and young professionals, supporting the creative dialogue between composers and performers and offering young professionals the opportunity to develop their skills with ensembles experienced in performing contemporary music on an international level.

The ECCO concert, and other cultural projects organised by ECSA, aim at increasing the visibility of ECSA and all the issues connected to the status of contemporary music creators. The music being played at the ECCO Concerts is received via a call to all ECSA member societies and are carefully selected to reflect the cultural and aesthetical diversity of European art music in the 21st century. The concert series taking place twice a year in various countries serve to circulate repertoire across European borders and help promote current repertoire and Europe’s musical diversity.

The first edition of the ECCO Concert 2020, which took place in Brussels on 4th February at Flagey, featured the Ensemble Fractales.

The second edition of the ECCO Concert 2020 was held in the Luxembourg’s Philharmonie on 6th October. It featured the ensemble United Instruments of Lucilin and was conducted by Thomas Goff. The concert has been recorded and will available for two weeks on radio 100komma7’s website starting from 4th November.
